The Department was established in 2010. Department has provided an applied edge to the courses being offered. The Department has well-equipped Computer Lab and modern infrastructure for teaching and learning activities. The faculty of the Department is well qualified and experienced and has been actively associated with student development activities in various capacities.
The department conducts the short term certified courses to feed the students in diverse.

A BCA graduate gets ample opportunities in both the private and public sectors. Here is a list of some of those -
Some popular job profiles for a BCA graduate are: -
System engineer - A system engineer develops, tests and evaluates software, circuits, and personal computer.
Programmer in various software development firms - The duty of programmer is to write code for software. A programmer is primarily working in the computer language such as Assembly, COBOL, C, C++, C#, Java, Lisp, Python, etc.
Web developer - A web developer is a programmer who specializes in the development of world wide web applications. The role of a web developer is to build and maintain websites. A web developer must have skills in HTML/XHTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript , etc.They find good career opportunities in various web designing companies and online digital marketing companies.
Software developer - The sole responsibility of software developer is to develop software that eases the tasks of the people and enable to perform work efficiently. A software developer also installs test and maintains the software.
Government Sector - A BCA degree opens up various opportunities in various Government sectors like a bank, defence etc. There are several exams which are conducted for entry into these Government sectors like UPSC CDSE, KPSC, SSC CGL, SSC etc. These are all graduate-level entrance exams where only BCA degree holders can apply for.
Public Sector - Apart from the aforementioned Government sector jobs, there are multiple opportunities for BCA graduates in the public sectors like NTPC, Steel Authority of India, BHEL etc. The BCA graduates do not have to appear in any entrance exams (usually) for a career in the public sector
Private Sector - India has witnessed the emergence of the IT sector probably like no other country in the world which has created a plethora of job opportunities for BCA graduates, especially in the past decade or two. There are several leading IT companies which offers lucrative job opportunities to the BCA graduates with a more than handsome salary packages.
Freelancing - It is another option for BCA graduates as there are many less known companies or startups that require professionals adept in programming languages to help them build their own websites. Due to the crunch in their budget, they outsource their programming task to freelancers with a BCA degree (or a higher degree). In some time, the programmer can start his/her own company with the experience gained.
