About Department

The Department of Hindi was established in the year 1973. Hindi is offered as one of the languages for all streams of learning in the college along with Kannada and English. Our College library is well equipped with many good books in Hindi. Every year the department recommends books to the library, which caters to the needs of the students and the staff. Academic activities in the Department of Hindi have been increased significantly. Department shapes research works on different subjects. Poetry, stories and novels are given more importance. Many research works are going on about different genres of Hindi language and literature. The faculty of the Department has been actively associated with student development activities in various capacities.

• To develop language proficiency for the purpose of practical communication and to make them think and express ideas, sentiments in the language.
• To improve their reading and writing skill
• To enhance their ability to communicate effectively and acquire the pronunciation of native speaker by means of spoken Hindi.
